04 Oct 2018 Reported SoldSale and lease back to Exmar. http://www.tradewindsnews.com/tankers/1598736/saverys-company-exmar-strikes-10-ship-leaseback-deal Nicolas Saverys company Exmar has refinanced bank debt on a fleet of 10 LPG vessels via a new leaseback deal with Japanese counterparties. Exmar, which is listed in its native Belgium, says the transaction will generate $60m in cash when it closes in the fourth quarter. All 10 ships in the pressurized fleet have been sold as part of the deal, with charters back to Exmar for a six-year period. The transaction, arranged by Credit Agricole, is with new Japanese partners that Exmar has not identified. Exmar is still seeking contracts for its FLNG barges and the additional cash from the leaseback brings extra time for employment to be found. Miguel de Potter, chief financial officer of Exmar, could not be reached for comment at the time of writing on Thursday. Saverys no longer sees Exmar as a shipping company, but as an “energy supply chain provider”. This year it has returned to VLGC ownership and is also active in the LNG and accommodation barge spaces.
