29 Apr 2026Beached/GroundedDate: April 29, 2026 Location: Outside Værøy, Lofoten, Norway Nature of Incident: The passenger/vehicle RoRo ran aground on rocks outside Værøy harbor during the early morning hours. Conditions at the time included wind speeds of 14 m/s and wave heights of 1–2 meters. Voyage Details: Operating the Bodø–Værøy–Røst–Moskenes ferry route. Outcome: The vessel refloated under its own power but suffered steering malfunctions. It was assisted to the quay by the NSSR lifeboat Det Norske Veritas and a Coast Guard vessel. All 23 passengers and 12 crew disembarked safely. Following an underwater inspection by divers, the ferry proceeded to Nesna for repairs. No injuries or pollution were reported.
