| 12 Jan 2018 | Reported SoldA pair of Russian tankers have been sold to repay bunker debts in Ukraine. Law firm Interlegal said the 4,000-dwt Niagara (built 1981) and 3,300-dwt Borislav (built 1990) were arrested as part of a dispute involving their owner Volgo-Don Shipping Agency of Volgograd, and three large foreign bunker groups. Three long-term commercial court cases in Kherson resulted in costs of $106,000 being recovered by the suppliers, the company told TradeWinds. They had filed a request for debt recovery for providing fuel. The ships were sold through an online auction site. It is not clear who the new owners are. Volgo-Don could not be contacted. Interlegal junior lawyer Juliya Kubarskaya and lawyer Vitalii Tolstik, under the general supervision of senior lawyer Alexey Remeslo, led the case. | — | — |
