10 Jun 2026	Collision	Brave Tern was involved in an allision at the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark. While attempting to maneuver in the harbor, the vessel was caught by strong winds and drifted into the moored installation vessel Wind Keeper (IMO 9972749), as well as a shore crane and the pier. Incident Impact: The Brave Tern had completed loading nine turbine blades destined for the 1.1GW Thor offshore wind farm. The collision caused significant damage to these blades, which were reported to be broken and bent. Casualties: There were no serious injuries reported; however, one individual was transported to a hospital for a medical check-up as a precaution. Regulatory Action: Following the incident, the Danish Maritime Authority detained the Brave Tern to facilitate inspections of both vessels and the port infrastructure, as well as to investigate the cause of the allision. Context: The Thor offshore wind farm is a major project located approximately 20 kilometers off the coast of Jutland, consisting of 72 15MW turbines. While the extent of potential delays to the project's construction schedule remains under investigation, media reports have estimated the direct and indirect costs of the incident could exceed DKK 1 billion (approximately US$150 million).
