Reports indicate that the officer fell seriously ill and succumbed to his condition amid delays in an emergency medical evacuation, reportedly exacerbated by regional tensions. Following his death, the crew utilized cold water bottles to slow the rate of decomposition of the body, which remained on board for over two days. As of June 14, 2026, the 2005-built tanker was at the Port Qasim anchorage in Pakistan. There were no reports of other injuries or pollution associated with this incident. |
