01 Dec 2023Detained/ArrestedUPDATE: On 14 January the third engineer of the vessel attempted suicide after having been isolated and unable to make contact with family. Indian authorities have confiscated crew's mobile phones and computers. The engineer was rescued and taken to Paradip Port Authority Hospital. 20 kgs of cocaine have been seized from the vessel at Paradip Port, India. At least 10 persons were under investigation, including 3 crew members 6 crane operators and a managerial level employee of a stevedoring agency. Divers were called in to search for more drugs that may have been hidden in the keel or elsewhere in the hull. The ship had arrived from Gresik, Indonesia and was supposed to sail to Denmark.
