Vessel suffered a loss of stability and a heavy list to port after seawater entered ballast compartments through a hull opening during repair works in rough weather. Stability was restored overnight via controlled ballasting and pumping operations on January 22nd. While no major spill occurred, a scattered iridescent sheen of petroleum products was observed and decontaminated. No injuries were reported. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus has prohibited the vessel's departure pending a certificate of seaworthiness. |
