Casualties

| 29 Jul 2025 | Cargo Loss | On August 1, the container ship Ever Lunar lost approximately 50 non-hazardous containers overboard while anchored near Callao, Peru. The incident was reportedly caused by severe rolling, which led to a temporary closure of the port. Authorities swiftly initiated a recovery operation, and the port reopened later that same day. There are unconfirmed reports that the vessel was ordered out of the harbor due to a tsunami warning before all containers could be secured. A separate incident occurred on July 29, when the Ever Feat lost or damaged 30 to 40 containers due to a stack collapse in rough seas between Brazil and Uruguay. Some of the lost cargo was reportedly fertilizer, requiring a hazardous cargo response. The vessel was able to safely berth in Montevideo for assessment and removal of the remaining damaged cargo. |
