| 15 Jan 2026 | Detained/Arrested | Aframax tanker Veronica (IMO 9256860) on January 15, 2026 in the Caribbean Sea. She was apprehended by US Southern Command during a pre-dawn operation, marking the sixth tanker with Venezuelan links seized in recent weeks. The vessel, formerly known as Pegas and Lana, has a history of transporting sanctioned Russian and Iranian oil. She is being held as part of an intensified US campaign to intercept "shadow fleet" tonnage tied to Venezuelan oil exports. |
| 14 Apr 2022 | Detained/Arrested | UPDATE: Cargo of Iranian oil has been seized by the US because of sanctions against Iran. The US Department of Justice chartered a tanker from the Greek Dynacom to empty the Lana of its cargo, which will subsequently be shipped to the US. During the time of the detention the ship had formally changed owner to a non-sanctioned company. Vessel was detained at Karystos Bay, Petalioi Gulf, Greece, for violation of EU sanctions against Russian ships. She was to STS offload her cargo off Peloponnese (or more probably, was already engaged in STS), but suffered mechanical failure and was towed or escorted to Karystos Bay, by a Greek tug. Understood she was en route from Marmara Sea, Turkey. |
