The vessel was subsequently arrested by authorities for failing to provide voluntary compensation for environmental damages. Voyage Details: The tanker was operating in the Black Sea, frequently calling at the Sheskharis terminal in Novorossiysk. Outcome: Rosprirodnadzor estimated environmental damages at RUB 40 million ($530,000). The Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai upheld the vessel's seizure, prohibiting its departure. Authorities have until May 21, 2026, to file a formal claim if the shipowner does not settle the costs. |
