Casualties

DateTypeDetails
06 Dec 2025Cargo LossSixteen containers—holding non-hazardous cargo including bananas, plantains, and avocados—fell from an unnamed cargo vessel near the Nab Tower lighthouse, Isle of Wight. No injuries were reported, but the incident disrupted local shipping, delaying the departure of the P&O Cruises vessel Iona by 24 hours. The Coastguard is conducting aerial searches and has cordoned off the area around Selsey where floating containers were sighted.
21 Oct 2023FireA fire occured in central hub area, reportedly because a lithium battery of water scooter self-ignited, while berthed at Southampton. The fire was not a mojor one and was extinguished by the vessel's fire fighting system. All passengers in the atrium were evacuated but did not leave the vessel. She left Southampton as scheduled.
