DateTypeDetails
05 Dec 2025Electrical FaultExperienced a loss of stability leading to an international search-and-rescue effort. While transporting clay from Lumut Port, Malaysia, to Hon Gai, Vietnam, the vessel developed a 15-degree starboard list amidst adverse weather conditions, prompting the captain to issue a distress call to Vietnam MRCC. Malaysia MRCC dispatched the coast guard vessel KM Sebatik to escort Kayo to safely anchor at Kemaman Port. All 15 crew members, consisting of 13 Vietnamese, one Bangladeshi, and one Indian, are confirmed safe and unharmed, with the vessel currently at anchor awaiting further assistance.
