08 Jun 2026War Damageon June 8, The Palau-flagged oil tanker Marivex caught fire and became disabled after allegedly failing to comply with U.S. instructions while heading toward Iran. At approximately 1:30 pm Indian time, a fire broke out aboard the vessel, which carried 24 Indian crew members but no cargo. CENTCOM reported that an F/A-18 fighter jet targeted the ship's engineering and steering sections, rendering it unable to proceed. The Indian Press Information Bureau confirmed all crew members are safe, with authorities coordinating evacuation efforts via the Indian Navy to ensure their well-being.
