30 Mar 2026Beached/GroundedOn March 30, 2026, at approximately midnight local time, the bulk carrier Noina ran aground at mile 169 of the Orinoco River in the Aramaya sector (San Roque area). The grounding resulted in a blockage of the navigation channel. Although four tugs were deployed to assist, initial towing maneuvers were unsuccessful. Current assessments indicate that the vessel must be lightered to facilitate refloating. No injuries or pollution were reported.
